This giant desert cactus only exposes its orange interior in the rainy season. When the rain comes the desert explodes with life and spores from assorted plants fill the air. Seed gliders are attracted to the area by the flying feast of spores and seeds. The Sunburst offers its bright orange 'petals' as both resting place and launching pad for seed gliders, the desert not offering many elevated points. The Sunbursts act as isolated oases, while the nomadic lizards help the Sunburst polenate over long distances.
